Song of Songs is such a practical book. We can truly apply its lessons and principles in our daily lives. These past 2 weeks I’ve been totally overwhelmed by everything that must be done. I’ve longed to spend more time with God and could feel my reserves were starting to run very low.
This morning I took my Bible and found a quiet place in the garden. As I’ve read and prayed the one Psalm after the other, I could feel how my perspective was restored. The presence of the Most High God is truly the best place where we can be. His Words, sweet like honey, are the only true food.
Holy Spirit then gave me this precious Word. It is full of wisdom and depth. Take the time to read it a few times. I also want to encourage you to spend some time on Psalm 119 – the sweetness dripping from this Psalm is live-giving.

“I AM the Apple tree in Song of Songs. I stand and I wait for you to find shelter under Me. You struggle and try within your own strength and you get tired. All the while, the Apple tree are waiting to empower you with My Words. My Words give you strength and will keep your lamp full of oil. When you meditate on My Words, it becomes part of you. I will then feed you with honey from the rock.
The Apple tree are waiting. You have to take the time to come and sit under the tree; to find rest. Sit, enjoy and be strengthened.
Man is not made to carry on and on without constant infilling. When you do that, you are using your reserves and your lamp becomes empty.
The oil in your lamp is My anointing, My power and My presence in your life – visible and tangible.
I AM the oil dealer (Matt 5:29)
I AM the Apple tree
I AM your power, your strength, your refuge.
Delight in My Words. Be strengthened. Become powerful IN Me.
Because you came to receive from the Apple tree, you can give to others from your abundance. True food. Living Words – so that you may live.”
Songs 2:3,5: Like an apple tree among the other trees in the forest is my darling among the other men. I love to sit in his shadow; his fruit is sweet to my taste. …refresh me with apples…
Ps 119:131 I opened my mouth and panted, For I longed for Your commandments.
Afrikaans:
Die olie in jou lamp is My salwing, My krag en My teenwoordigheid in jou lewe – sigbaar en tasbaar.
EK IS die verkoper (Matt 25:9).
EK IS die Appelboom.
EK IS jou krag, jou sterkte, jou toevlug.
Verlustig jou in My Woorde. Word versterk. Word kragtig IN My.
Gee uit jou oorvloed omdat jy kom kry het by die Appelboom. Ware spys. Lewende Woorde sodat jy kan lewe.
