He is the Creator

By Yolandie Mostert (July 2023)

His hands are rods of gold, set with beryl. (Songs 5:14a)

I want to start today’s message with a passage in John chapter 1. For me it’s one of the most beautiful descriptions of who Jesus Christ is. When I read this passage, it always fills my spirit with even more admiration for our Bridegroom King. He is wonderful and there is truly no-one like Him. I’m reading from the Amplified version.

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. (Joh 1:1-4)

YHVH Elohim, plural, were involved at creation. When the earth was still without form and time, space and distance did not yet exist, the Spirit of God was there. Jesus was also there – His Name is the WORD. Everything was created through the WORD. Not one thing came into existence that the WORD did not make. In Him is all the power to give life. This life in Him is the light of men.

The hands in Song of Songs refers to the workmanship of Jesus Christ. The work of His hands is perfect; rods of gold, endorsed with chrysolite. This precious stone is a yellowish-green colour and represented the tribe of Asher on the breastplate of Aaron.

Whatever was in the Father’s heart, came into existence through the WORD, Jesus Christ.

… God who created all things through Jesus Christ (Eph 3:9b)

We should be filled with awe when we look at everything God created. From the smallest organism to the largest galaxy, the process of gemination and growth to fruitfulness, the inter-dependence of organisms in a healthy eco system, the magnitude of the spiritual realm and the immense detail and creativity of the physical realm. In every created thing God embedded His power, wisdom and understanding.

He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding. (Jer 51:15)

“Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they exist, and were created and brought into being.” (Rev 4:11)

Just like we can recognise someone’s personality in their work, our King is revealed in the works of His hands. When we are tuned in and start noticing, we’ll come to realise what is important for Him, what He likes and what He sees as beautiful. Every person wants to be deeply known by their beloved. The bride of Jesus Christ must also come to know her Bridegroom. How else will she be able to partake in letting His Kingdom come and His will be done. He reveals Himself in so many ways to man that no-one will be able to say they didn’t know.

For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. (Rom 1:20 AMP)

It is such a pity that people can see how wonderful creation is, but give honour to the earth as a god instead of to the Creator. There are so many people in nature and medical related careers that can see physical proof of God’s power, wisdom and understanding, but choose the ascribe the glory to different kinds of theories. It is then when we hear terms like: ‘mother earth’. There is no such thing. We have to be careful how we speak. We tend to say something because it sounds cute or because everyone says it and then we don’t realise that give honour to a created thing instead of to the Creator.

For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another. (Isa 48:11)

Paul continues in Romans 1:21.

For even though they knew God [as the Creator], they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation].

Then he continues to explain that the complete depravity we see in the world today is the result of this. On this note I quickly want to talk about that what is currently being driven by the kingdom of darkness. The wicked agenda to break down the gender and sexuality of man is a direct attack against the image of God.

In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. (Gen 5:1-2)

Don’t stand on the sideline and try to be politically correct. There is a right and a wrong. There is a Kingdom of Light and a kingdom of darkness. The grey in between belongs to the kingdom of darkness.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive, until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness. They are gossips [spreading rumors], slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new forms] of evil, disobedient and disrespectful to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful [without pity]. Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgment, that those who do such things deserve death, yet they not only do them, but they even [enthusiastically] approve and tolerate others who practice them. (Rom 1:28-32)

Back to the awesomeness of Jesus Christ, the WORD, through which everything was created. Just to type out His Name – THE WORD – fills me with worship. May it be the same for you.

We find a beautiful passage in Isaiah 45. He is the One that forms light just a like a potter forms a clay pot. He also creates darkness. He brings peace into being. But He is also the One that creates calamity, disaster and trouble. Why? Man is so quick to ask ‘but why will a God of love create calamity?’. All things are His servants (Ps 119:9) and when God’s judgements are on the earth, people learn righteousness (Isa 26:9). He is the One that brings forth salvation and righteousness; He created it.

I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things. Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. I, the LORD, have created it. (Isa 45:7-8)

I want to stop for a moment at the original blueprint, the dream of God for the earth and for mankind. Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. They lived and worked in the physical realm and was co-workers to bring God’s heart for the earth into fulfilment. As an example: Adam named the animals as they were supposed to be named. The Creator placed His heart and will in Adam and because of their uninterrupted friendship, Adam was effective. They also lived in the spiritual realm and was able to communicate directly with God because of that. Remember, the division between spirit and soul was not yet there (Heb 4:12). The division only came after the fall.

The age that we currently live in is far removed from that first plan. But we are very close to the close of the current age. Most believers only live their lives and are not even aware of God’s times and seasons. For them life consist of birth, growing up, education, career, gathering of assets, pension and death. There are some that is expecting the return of Jesus, but don’t have any expectation beyond that. Some think they will be raptured before any calamity hits the earth even though the Bible doesn’t make such a promise. But that’s a topic for another day.

But then there is a few that looks even further. Everything is not going to stop existing when Jesus returns and we will live happy ever after in heaven. The next age lies ahead – the thousand-year reign of peace. That period is almost like a transition age to eternity. That is when Jesus will physically rule on earth together with His bride. Not every believer; His Bride. Isaiah 65 gives us a small preview into that age. There are a lot of other prophecies too that you can research for yourself. The thousand-year reign of peace makes me so excited. Our King’s law, order, righteousness and ways will rule on earth. Not our weak man-made systems and governments.

The Bridegroom wants to reveal His heart and dreams to His bride. Pray for a heart that is able to hear and feel His heart. How else will be able to implement His Kingdom on earth as rulers?

For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, And her people a joy. (Isa 65:17-18)

God did not stop creating at Genesis. He is still creating. Everything comes into being through the WORD – Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, our King, Bridegroom, the Light and the Life. The bride of the WORD needs to come in line – spirit, soul and body – with this attribute of the Creator in order to demonstrate His heart for His creation on earth.

I want to add something on this point, that presses on my heart. I believe the Holy Spirit will lead to deeper and more in-depth messages about this in future. A few years ago people became more aware of the soul. We saw healing from the trauma and bondage on the level of the soul. Later, quite recently actually, the focus started to move to the spirit. All the more people are talking about the woundedness of the spirit. Deep inner healing can now take place on the soul as well as the spirit of the bride. This is needed for us to become without spot or wrinkle. But we cannot stop there. The Holy Spirit is starting to reveal more and more about His heart for our bodies and how to live in line with God’s original plan for creation. Pure, healthy, free from chemicals, poison and addictions. Eating habits that are subjected to His will. The bride must lead and demonstrate the Creator’s ways to the world. The bride of Christ is not allowed to be ruled by her flesh and by her stomach. Only the Spirit of the Living God may rule her. I’m also starting to notice how God is leading us even further to His original plan for the earth. His way of planting and His heart for fruitfulness. May He lead us further in His wisdom.

And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. (Joh 17:5)

I want to close this message with two Creation proclamations. Father, may it be and may it come into fulfilment, very soon!

I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, The myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine And the box tree together, That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the LORD has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.  (Isa 41:18-20)

I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth— Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. Bring out the blind people who have eyes, And the deaf who have ears.  (Isa 43:6-8)
